Walrus opened the doors in September of 2014 and never looked back. Our local Maryland seafood restaurant was bustling the moment we launched on the shores of the Potomac River in National Harbor. Since then we’ve earned a reputation as an authentic oyster house, serving over 500,000 bivalves a year. Our menu has evolved over the past 10 years to include delicious seafood dishes from the great coastal regions throughout America. Our “Maryland’s Best Lobster Roll” consistently gets recognized as one of The Best Sandwiches in the US and our Prime Steaks rival any chop house in the area. The Walrus Oyster & Ale House has become a “go to” destination for DMV locals as well as our visiting out of town guests. Our expansive bar features a unique scratch cocktail program, curated wine list, and extensive craft beer list. Walrus prides itself on serving delicious seasonal margaritas that have become crowd favorites.
Our Walrus design provides an entertaining homage to the 1871 Lewis Carroll novel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Saw There. With one-of-a-kind art installations by renowned artist, Kelly Walker, guests get transported to a world of whimsy on the Potomac. Bright and airy with high ceilings and an inside/outside bar overlooking the waterfront, Walrus is an entertaining dining destination. With a seating capacity of up to 300 guests, our restaurant creates massive curb appeal for visitors of The Gaylord Resort and MGM Grand Casino.
